Official COVID 19 statement
To make things go as covid safely and smoothly as possible please read if coming to the bar once we reopen on the 4th. We have a detailed Risk Assessment and we have put in as many of the safety measures as can be reasonably expected.
Initially it will be outdoor seating and standing only. The back yard will be fully covered and standing only. We have been kindly granted permission to use more of the Town Hall terrace. Seating will be placed on the terrace and there will be designated standing areas on the terrace too, please keep 1m+ apart. Please respect pedestrians and anyone using the car park (if you have kids with you they have to be under close supervision). Furthermore please respect our town’s beautiful Town Hall by not placing drinks on the floor, sitting, standing or using the steps as a table.
Two car park bays will have seating. Don’t rearrange the furniture please.
On weekends we will have an additional loo. Please queue at safe distance, use anti bac on entering, ensure you leave in a clean state (spray etc will be in the loo) and anti bac as you are leaving. Loos will be checked/cleaned regularly but tell us if it needs attention.
On arrival at the bar you will be asked for the names of your party and one contact number.
Not our decision .
Ordering is via a one way system. We will also have some beer pitchers so you don’t have to return to the bar as quickly. Once you’ve ordered if at all possible pay by contactless. A machine will be passed to you. If using one of our vouchers that’s fine. Once paid exit by the back door (mindful to keep distance from folks wanting the loo). Drinks will be place on a table by the side door. Once you’ve finished your drinks please return glasses to the tables to the side of the bar (or in the bin if you have chosen a plastic pint/1/2 glass).
As you can see from reading this, it is not straightforward so please be patient with us and respectful to all. We’ve all gone through varying degrees of crapness for the past months and it’s still tough now. We don’t have an unlimited capacity so do give the chance for others to experience what you have been doing by not hogging a table for too long.
We ask for your co-operation and support otherwise we will not be able to remain open.
